I was reading an article recently (http://teamhoward.pbw_orks.com/f/Case_for_field_trips.pdf) that opens with the statement that, "Field trips in the formative years are one of the most important things teachers can provide for their students." We are lucky living in Singapore to have easy access to such a broad range of out of class learning experiences. Just this week, K1 have explored shadows in the school grounds, K2 visited the Arts Centre, Grade 1 have visited a Goat Farm and Grade 2 have been to the Science Museum. These experiences allow students to have a rich education where they can see the relevance of what they learn in the classroom to the world around them. The connections and excitement for learning that these trips generate truly allow our students to see how education is making a different in their lives.
Please note that I will not be in school next week as I will be conducting an Accreditation visit for the Council of International Schools at Phuket International Academy. Sharyn Skrtic will be covering my role in my absence. I will of course still be contactable via email.

As part of our constant review of our security systems to ensure the ISS is a truly safe learning environment, we have made a change to our policy of allowing taxis onto campus:
